The Gear
Our players are required to practice and play in full gear, unless otherwise intructed by the coaches, due to safety. Full gear consists of the following:
The Helmet:
The helmet is to protect the player's head from the sticks and other players. These are extremely important to have!
Lacrosse Gloves:
Lacrosse gloves are thickly padded, good grip, gloves to help the player hold the stick and to protect the player's hands from other sticks and players.
The Lacrosse Stick:
The stick is what is used to handle the ball; there are 2 essential types of sticks: short (attack) sticks, and long (D sticks). The team has a few extra long-poles and a goalie stick, which can be borrowed. You will most likely need a short (attack) stick. This is an essential part of the game.
Arm Pads:
Arm pads serve to protect the arms from opponent's sticks.
Shoulder Pads:
Shoulder pads serve to protect the player's shoulders and chest area from the sticks and other players.
Chest Pads:
These protect the abdominal area from blows from opponent's sticks and from other players.
Cup:
Cups are required equipment for the team and are worn under the uniform shorts.
Cleats:
These are shoes used to better grip the turf for better agility.
Mouthpiece:
This is to protect your teeth so that you don't end up overpaying your dentist.
