We will hold the first walk-up registration for the 2010-11 season on Saturday, October 16, 2010 (10A-2P), at the Firethorne Clubhouse. A second walk-up registration will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 (10A-2P), at Cinco Ranch High School. The registration costs for the 2010-11 season are as follows:
• 8th or 7th grade player = $275
• 6th grade or younger player = $200
• Family membership (regardless of how many players or at what age level) = $275

Here is the process for registering with the Katy Cavalier Lacrosse Club:
Step 1 (Get a US Lacrosse Membership): Get your son a membership in US Lacrosse at http://www.uslacrosse.org/. It costs $25 per year and it provides the club with liability insurance while your player is playing games or practicing. You will need to email us the membership number and expiration date as proof of membership in US Lacrosse. To register with US Lacrosse, go to the US Lacrosse web site and click on the "Membership Info" link on the left side of the US Lacrosse web page. Then register for a "Youth" membership for your son. You register online and they approve you instantly, but you have to pay electronically using a credit/debit card.
Step 2 (Fill in the Registration Package): Fill in the Katy Cavalier registration package. Get the Registration Package by clicking on the link to the Registration Package above.
Step 3 (Get the lacrosse equipment): Get your son his lacrosse equipment. If you own used lacrosse equipment that does not fit or is not to your liking, then we recommend going to Play-It-Again Sports in Sugar Land because they will give you a 10% discount if you mention that you are with the Katy Cavaliers. We don't get any kickbacks, so you are getting an honest referral to the place we believe has the least expensive equipment. They have a wide variety of equipment. They sell both new and used lacrosse equipment. They are an established seller of quality lacrosse equipment and we have been using them for years, so they know exactly what you need. They really know the sport of lacrosse.
Once you have all of the above, just give the registration check to the president or the treasurer, whose names and mailing addresses are on the registration paperwork, and you'll be ready for step #4.
Step 4 (Order the uniform package): The uniform order form is in the registration paperwork. Once we receive your order form, we will place the order for and then issue your uniform package, which includes two game jerseys with two matching shorts, a white Cavaliers t-shirt, and the reversible practice jersey. The cost of the uniform package will be approximately $105, based on what it has cost in the past. Let us know if you need to stretch out the payments for registration or uniform costs. A few other parents have done this in the past. We aim to accommodate you. The player’s number is on the game jerseys and the practice jersey. We have several player numbers available in a variety of sizes, but we can let your son select one of the available player numbers once he shows up, or you can request a favorite number in advance to see if it is available.
Once you have completed steps 1-4 above, you are done with registration. Uniforms will probably not arrive until December or January, so please be patient. We will add your name to the contact list and you will receive communications about upcoming events. Practices are held at Cinco Ranch High School on the big empty piece of land between the parking lot and the LaCenterra shopping center. The first practice will be held on Saturday, November 6th, from 9-11 AM (unless announced otherwise). Practices generally run from 4:00-5:45 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays (daylight permitting). The regular season will start on January 29, 2011. Game times and locations are to be determined (TBD). The regular season runs through mid-late April. The final game schedule has not been finished yet, but the games are almost always on weekends. All games will be played in the Greater Houston metropolitan area. Our home games are always played at Firethorne Fields, which are just west of the Katy Mills Mall area.
